Quiltlet

blocksEl Camino Quilters has a quilt composed of blocks made by members of the guild.  Every member is requested to make a block.

Your “Quiltlet” is an 8½“- finished square that is pieced, appliquéd, fused, embroidered, or created using any method you wish.  Fabrics, colors, and techniques are up to you; let your imagination run wild.  Use a design that relates to your interests or that you just like. Use muslin or other light-colored fabric for backing.  Write your name, the date you joined the guild, and any other pertinent information you wish on the back or make a label.  Use any batting you wish. Cut 2” strips for the binding (approximately 77” in length and 1” folded).  Bind the top and bottom as for a quilt.

Cut the remaining binding into 2 equal strips about 28½” long.

Bind the sides leaving a 10” extension on each corner.

Finish these ties by top stitching or whip stitching.

Bring your Quiltlet and have it added to our display.

Then make sure to check out the banner at each meeting and celebrate your new friends!
